It’s true. We’re surrounded by data on the current and accelerating “talent shortage” in the world. Letting your people know they’re valued and valuable is becoming more important.
What you probably didn’t realize is that there are certain times of day that our brains get more excited about being rewarded.
This short video offers some background on the “reward center” in our brains, called the putamen, and it’s daily pattern of activity.
The idea is that a well-timed “I really appreciate you” gets people more excited. Because of where the putamen is located, this also can create more positive emotions and better influence their decision to stay with your organization.
